Sequoia is the most sumptuous, safest and state-of-the-art yacht in Indonesia. Her owner spent four years overseeing her bespoke build. The result is a 26m hand-built wooden schooner, custom-made to cruise the 18,000-island archipelago.

Her cruising grounds off West Papua, the Molucca and the Lesser Sunda Islands comprise the most biodiverse seas on planet earth. Some 1,000 species of fish cavort around 500 species of coral. Unlike phinisi, the larger traditional craft also built on the beaches of Sulawesi, Sequoia's layout is based around three sumptuous suites and several lounging decks. Each one is finished in local hardwoods and cool organic fabrics. With a draft of just 2m, rather than 4m for longer vessels, she can reach intimate beaches for volcanic hikes amid tropical rainforest guarded by macaque monkeys and flying foxes.
