Overview
Formerly named "Amanikan" is an authentic phinisi vessel constructed by master wooden boat builders of eastern Indonesia. Their highly-skilled craftsmanship and unique artistry have earned them recognition from UNESCO, which has designated phinisi boats as "Masterpieces" of traditional Indonesian culture and heritage.
Mahodaya's elegantly appointed interiors were created by the late Jaya Ibrahim, renowned designer of some of the world's leading properties, including several of the iconic Amanresorts, The Dharmawangsa Hotel in Jakarta, the Legian in Bali and also the current Mahodaya and Azerai Resorts offices in Jakarta. All Mahodaya luxury yacht renovations and upgrades were carried out by the original design team and wood workers who retain a deep attachment to the vessel.
Construction was first commissioned by Adrian Zecha, the founder of Regent Hotels, Rafael Hotels, Amanresorts, and the new and notable Azerai Resorts
